The Immediate Assumption of All Risks and Liabilities
Due solely to its proprietary capabilities to Beneficially Use all CCR in a coal ash impoundment and remediate all contact water, and thereby eliminate those risks altogether, Tephra offers its clients the option to immediately walk away from all liabilities via an outright acquisition of a client’s problematic risks.
Under its Environmental Risk Transfer Program Tephra will acquire the entire coal powered power plant (including the generating facilities, switch stations and interconnect infrastructure, and all coal ash ponds/landfills) or alternatively the acquisition can include just the client’s coal ash pond/landfill.
If the Risk Transfer includes the entire plant, then the power generation equipment will be decommissioned while the Beneficial Use process completely eliminates all CCR and beneficially reuses (or treats) all contact water and groundwater on the site.
Just like its Beneficial Use process, Tephra’s Environmental Risk Transfer and Liability Assumption process is completely flexible to meet a clients’ needs. The cost for this service is negotiated based on the client requirements and can include full turnkey operations, immediate full contractual assumption of all CCR and contaminated water liabilities, complete decommissioning, and demolition of all power generation stations, and repurposing the site for its highest and best use.
